Septembers Fun!

Throughout September we've been busy bee's with a number of new clients joining us and new staff coming on board. We've been trying to keep ourselves busy and slowly trying to get ourselves back out into the community now that lockdowns and other restrictions have been lifted. We've had numerous trips out to restaurants (especially with the Eat out to Help out Scheme), followed by bowling. This allowed our young people to get more involved with their wider community after build on their social and interpersonal skills. Below are some highlights from these various trips;

It hasn't all been day trips out. Our young people have been hard at work. We've been working on our independent life skills such as designing their own pizzas. This involved them creating their own shopping list with ingredients, going to the shops to buy our ingredients, assembling and cooking our pizzas before EVENTUALLY getting to enjoy them!

We've also been celebrating some birthdays that were missed throughout lockdown. The last week of September we took a trip to Hope Pastures in Weetwood. We ha d a great day out getting to meet all the donkeys, ponies and horses who have been rescued and given a new home. The clients enjoyed it so much that we've even enquired about adopting our own Future Horizons donkey for the clients to go visit whenever they want, so keep your eyes peeled and check back for regular updates!

Well we missed a few over the past few months, but this employee has gone above and beyond throughout Covid and since we've opened back up. He's a vital member of our team and keeps proving day in day out that he deserves this award. Congrats to Paul MItchell and a massive thank you to all staff throughout these past few months without their continued support and positivity we wouldn't be the same Future Horizons that you know and love!
